Irish singer HOZIER for the first time in Prague!
Take Me to Church! The hit couldn't be overheard, the distinctive melody and the voice can't be forgotten. The darkened song on the border of blues, gospel, rock and pop sounded from all radios and climbed the charts of many countries. Now its author, charismatic Irish musician and singer Hozier will perform for the first time in the Czech Republic! 27. Karlín will present a new album called Wasteland, Baby!, which will be released on 1 August. They shall forthwith inform the Commission thereof.
The song Take Me to Church, an emotional protest against the Catholic Church in Ireland, was later accompanied by a provocative black-and-white clip condemning homophobic violence in Russia. Immediately after publication, the song went viral and earned Hozier both a contract with the label and a Grammy nomination. The first eponymous album of 2014, on which this single appeared, which featured other hits such as Someone New or Work Song, then reached the platinum awards six times and reached the top 10 sales charts in many countries. The final track of cherry wine hozier was released as a charity single highlighting the issue of domestic violence. This album was followed by an extensive tour, many concerts and performances on TV shows. Hozier, meanwhile, also composed the song Better Love for the soundtrack to The Legend Of Tarzan.
Hozier's social engagement, all by the name Andrew Hozier-Byrne, is illustrated by last year's single from a new album called Nina Cried Power, which is a tribute to the protest songs of the human rights movement.
