REVIEW: Rag'n'Bone Man performs in Karlin Forum
British native of Uckfield, as part of the European Tour of the Grande Reserve, presented himself in the sold-out Fora Karlín
Forwards: Thales, Grace Carter
He was already clear about his artistic name at the age of five. Over the next quarter-century, he dominated with it thanks to the single Human charts in his native Britain, France, Germany and the Czech Republic.
''Every time I play somewhere for the first time, I'm worried about how it's going to turn out,' Karlín confided in the sold-out Fora Karlín in the middle of the concert. ''But now I see I didn't have to," he added. And he really didn't have to. The 33-year-old singer has something to lean on on stage.
The seven-man backing band, starting with its captivating bass baritone, ends. This was not much of a vocalist who deserved one and possibly two female colleagues in the future, but there was no catastrophe.
We don't think the setlist was very good. After about 6 songs came boredom. The following As You Are a Guilty show literally saved. The most famous song Human, whose clip has nearly half a billion views on Youtube, was almost eventually retained by Graham. But his constant tumbling is clearly getting on his nerves. He introduced the hit to the audience in a shortened and slightly casual version. In the final Die Easy, he allowed himself what few singers can do – he stayed on stage alone. Added Bitter End and Hell Yeah just kept the pace set
We rate the whole concert as slightly hilarious. The question is what direction he will be heading in. It is almost certain that the same style would not have to guarantee further success
